Mike Forman Joins Fresh Media Works
Victoria, TX — After an esteemed 42-year career with the Victoria Advocate, legendary Texas sports journalist Mike Forman is joining Fresh Media Works, the parent company of Lone Star Gridiron and LSPN. Known across the state for his integrity, consistency, and storytelling excellence, Forman will now bring his talents to a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of high school sports coverage in Texas.
At Fresh Media Works, Forman will take on a wide range of duties including writing, podcast hosting, video coverage, and reporting—continuing the work he’s been known for throughout his career. His role will include key contributions to both Lone Star Gridiron and LSPN, where he will be a major part of the company’s growing slate of sports podcasts and digital coverage.

Forman’s reputation was built over four decades of deep-rooted reporting and trusted relationships with coaches, student-athletes, and sports communities throughout Texas. His unmatched connection to the people behind the games has long made him the gold standard for high school sports coverage in the state.
A Dallas native and graduate of Hillcrest High School, Forman earned a bachelor’s degree from SMU and a master’s degree from UCLA. He started in radio at KVIC Victoria before joining the Victoria Advocate in 1982, where he spent more than four decades covering high school football, baseball, softball, track and field, and UHV baseball. He has also contributed to Lone Star Gridiron, Texas Football magazine, served on the Ford Tough Advisory Board, and was a Heisman Trophy voter from 1997 through 2024.
“I’m excited to start working more formally with Chris and Fresh Media Works,” said Forman. “We have collaborated for years on many things including the Gulf Coast Huddle podcast and I look forward to expanding our coverage into other areas, sports, and mediums.”
This move marks a major addition to the Fresh Media Works team as they continue to expand their sports coverage, deepen community connections, and bring powerful stories to new audiences across Texas.
