Welcome to This Week in Victoria! Each week, Brother Gary Moses and Chris Doelle sit down and go over all the happenings in the Crossroads area.

Wednesday :
• Chamber Luncheon.
• VFW Hamburger Night: Held every Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
• Knights of Columbus (KC) Hall Bingo: Held every Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
• Farmers Market: Held every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
• Gary Moses is at the STEM school (the old V High School) for the first day of school.
• Gary Moses mentions upcoming “stuff” with Patty Welder.
Thursday:
• Navy Museum New Exhibit Preview: The exhibit is about space and will be open to the public starting Friday.
• Wild Turkey Federation Banquet: Starts at 5:00 PM at the Victoria Community Center.
• Academy of Lifelong Learning: Held at the Victoria College Emerging Technology Complex from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
• Crossroads Cruisers Car Club Meeting.
• Crown Hospice Healthcare Meeting: Open to the public at Joe’s Pizza from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
• Public Library – “The Adventures of La Salle”: From 6:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Friday:
• Navy Museum New Exhibit Opening: Open to the public, continuing through October 3rd.
• FIRE (Friday Inspire, Renew, and Excel) Business Networking Zoom Call:
◦ Occurs every first and third Friday of the month at 11:30 AM.
◦ This specific session, led by Chris Doelle, is titled “When AI Stops Chatting and Starts Working”.
◦ It’s a hands-on session focusing on using AI for practical tasks like creating websites or finding business leads.
◦ It is free and can be accessed via the Facebook Business Success Academy or by contacting Chris.
• Crossroads Builders Association 39th Annual Fishing Tournament Pre-Party: Held on Friday night at the Port of Connor Community Center, leading up to the tournament on Saturday.
• Fun Friday at the Public Library: Starts at 10:00 AM and includes chair yoga.
Saturday:
• Crossroads Builders Association 39th Annual Fishing Tournament: Starts at 7:00 AM at the Port of Connor Community Center.
• Scouts Day in the Park (Scouting America):
◦ For boys and girls aged 5 to 18.
◦ Held at the Special Events Area, Riverside Park, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
◦ Includes games and activities, with opportunities to register to be a scout.
• Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange: Held at Victoria Mall at 9:30 AM and is free.
• Victoria Farmers Market: Held at the Patty Johnson Public Health Center from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (summer hours). (Also held every Wednesday).
• Charlie Astrom at Acrafters.
Sunday:
• KC’s Council 1329 Pork Steak Fundraiser: Starts at 9:00 AM at KC Hall.
• Plates are $12 and include grilled mashed potatoes and green beans.
Next Week’s Events:
• Monday: Unleash the Beast at East High School.
◦ Showcases all extracurricular activities.
◦ Booths begin around 5:00 PM, with a parade around 6:00 PM.
◦ Includes a big pep rally in the East Gym.
• Wednesday: Meet the Warriors at West High School.
◦ Features a big parade.
• Gary Moses is also involved with United Way activities.

TLSN Legends Golf Classic: This golf tournament, which supports people in UT athletics who may be facing hard times, will be held on Sunday, September 15th, at Great Hills Country Club in Austin, Texas.

- Registration begins at 11:00 AM, with tee time around noon, and an awards ceremony at 6:00 PM.
- Every team will have the opportunity to play with a UT sports legend, including basketball, football, tennis players, and coaches like Rudy Tomjanovich.
- It is open to fans, friends, alumni, business leaders, and golf enthusiasts, especially those with an interest in UT athletics.
- Participants can expect a premium course experience, awards, prizes, exclusive photo opportunities, food, and drinks.
