Welcome to This Week in Victoria! Each week, Brother Gary Moses and Chris Doelle sit down and go over all the happenings in the Crossroads.

Here are the events mentioned in the sources, organized by the day they occur:

Wednesday:

  • Generals baseball games: The Generals are in their last homestand before the playoffs, playing yesterday (Tuesday), tonight (Wednesday), and Friday. Tonight’s game is part of their last home games for the regular season. The playoffs will start next week. The first round of playoffs is best of three games.
  • Victoria Public Library activities: Plenty of stuff going on at the Victoria Public Library.
  • VFW hamburger night: This event is from 5 PM to 8 PM.
  • The Garden House coffee and espresso bar: This event is from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM and includes coloring for kids and drinks for both big and little kids.

Thursday:

  • CBA Crossroads Association cornhole tournament: This event is at the All-Star Dance Academy. Doors open at 5:45 PM, and the bags fly afterwards. All teams are filled.
  • Tip a Cop at Texas Roadhouse: This annual event raises money for Special Olympics. Police and Sheriff’s department personnel work the tables and collect tips from 6 PM to 10 PM. A host will be working the front door.
  • Library stuff: There are “some library stuff” events happening.

Friday:

  • Library End of Summer Foam Party: This event is at DaileyOn Plaza starting at 2 PM. It features foam, gifts, booths, and fun.
  • Navy Museum final exhibit day: This exhibit is called “Looking to the wrong lens and end of a telescope” and is about Dr. Seuss. It starts at 5 PM at the museum.
  • “Here Be Monsters” play production: This production features new short plays written and produced by various people. It will be held at the Fivepoint Museum at 8 PM on Friday and Saturday.
  • Victoria Public Library activities: The library offers “play more” activities at 10 AM, including “tea time” and “tic-tac-toe”.
  • Adultish Book Club: This event is at the library at 6 PM.
  • Service Cover Museum Fun Friday: This is mentioned as a “good one”.

  • An Evening at the Garden House Coffee and Espresso Bar: This event is from 6 PM to 10 PM and includes booths and DJ Rose playing music. Drinks are available.
  • Story Wines Get Together: This event is from 7 PM to 9 PM, located behind Cavender’s.
  • Stephanie Ross and Southern Drive Crafters event: This event is happening on Saturday.
  • Our Lady of Victory Scouts of America Troop 364 Barbecue Chicken Dinner Fundraiser: This fundraiser is at the OLV Cafeteria from 11 AM to 1 PM.
  • Remote Control Air Flyers Float Flying: This event takes place all day in Edna at the Bracken Ridge Main Event Center, where remote control airplanes are flown over water.

Sunday:

  • “Foot Loose” theater production: This Theater Victoria production continues at the Welder Center.
  • Miss Golden Crescent Pageant: This event will be held at the VIC Fine Arts Center at 3 PM, where winners will be crowned.

TLSN Legends Golf Classic: This golf tournament, which supports people in UT athletics who may be facing hard times, will be held on Sunday, September 15th, at Great Hills Country Club in Austin, Texas.

    • Registration begins at 11:00 AM, with tee time around noon, and an awards ceremony at 6:00 PM.
    • Every team will have the opportunity to play with a UT sports legend, including basketball, football, tennis players, and coaches like Rudy Tomjanovich.
    • It is open to fans, friends, alumni, business leaders, and golf enthusiasts, especially those with an interest in UT athletics.
    • Participants can expect a premium course experience, awards, prizes, exclusive photo opportunities, food, and drinks.
