Today we have a special guest – Ernest Stevens. In the last 28 years of law enforcement, he has served in various roles throughout his career to include DWI task force, Tactical Response Unit (TRU), Street Crimes Assistance Team (SCAT), Field Training Officer. He was a founding officer of the San Antonio Police Department Mental Health Unit in 2008. He was the primary subject in the two time Emmy nominated award winning HBO documentary, Ernie and Joe: Crisis Cops. He has been featured on ABC’s Nightline with Byron Pitts and NBC documentary, A Different Kind of Force. He co-authored Amazon’s Best Seller, Mental Health and De-escalation: A Training Guide for Police Professionals.
