In this episode we talk about how social media algorithms changes really don’t matter. Your content and your social media should be based on the real you and as long as you do that you are golden.

Hello everybody I am Chris Doelle, and this is the show where I use my commute time to talk about one actionable idea, tip, trick just something you can use to make your marketing more productive. Today I am going to talk about algorithms. I’ve talk a lot in my public seminars about Google’s algorithm but gosh a lot has happened with social media algorithms. From Facebook changing which posts you see and which ones you don’t see to things like instagram changing up how you interact with the site. So yeah, instagram, snapchat they have all recently tweaked their algorithms, and so the first thing people do is make posts that say “things you need to know about instagram” “changes on snapchat and why its important to you!” Granted I write these things too because there are some important things. But every time, no matter what changes, snapchat changed a few days ago which added a bunch of stickers and these different overlays of locations, yet their showing what their geofencing information is all about. If you go back to one of my earlier episodes I talk about snapchat geofencing. But the thing I want to point out, is that is doesn’t really matter when these algorithm changes. Yes, it does matter at the macro level where you tweak and perfect your message and how your content goes out. But if you focus on the important things it does not change anything. Number one thing over all other things is how i sign off on this show “keep it real.” Be you, don’t put on a show or do an act. Don’t adopt other personas to get someone to buy from you cause they will like you, don’t bother, people will see through that. Be who the heck you are, and there is something likeable about everyone. focus on what is likeable about you. the interaction with people goes through the roof when you are real and you tell the truth and let them into your life through social media. Being real carries the day in terms of having that connection. If you go out to, and I don’t even know if I this yet, i’ve done tons and tons of content on this new platform Anchor, get out there and check it out on iOS and soon to android I assume. But, why Anchor is so effective and why it has exploded and is the new hot ticket is because it is so authentic. It’s one on one voice conversations with people that other people can listen in on. It’s like the early days when reality tv was actually real. So the reason why every single one works, every platform out there, no matter how they tweak themselves, none of it matters as long as you are being real.
